The Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) is a non-profit making, educational and scientific association aiming to improve patient care through the support of teaching, science, research and clinical practice in the field of cardiovascular and interventional radiology. Based in Vienna, the society represents more than 10,000 members worldwide. Our main mission is to provide education and training to our members to enhance patient care and to constantly improve the medical discipline of interventional radiology.
We are now looking for a new team member to join our communications office which manages all of the society's media, including direct mailings to members, social media channels, various websites, an app, and video production.
The social media and communications officer will be responsible for developing and delivering compelling digital content to raise awareness of the specialty, encourage membership engagement, and increase congress participation. Candidates should be highly motivated digital natives with excellent writing and editing skills as well as the ability to quickly acquire new knowledge regarding software applications for media management.

Liaise with various stakeholders within the organization to create content highlighting its initiatives
Assist in developing and executing communication strategies directed at the organization's membership and other stakeholders
Proofread and edit texts, including promotional materials, medical texts, and educational content, to ensure accuracy and clarity
Manage content across social media platforms to increase and target the organization's presence
Support website maintenance
Prepare reports and presentations using Microsoft Office
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging
Create and publish engaging content aligned with scientific messaging and society priorities
Develop social media campaigns for membership, education, and congress promotion
Monitor analytics and performance to optimize content
Support social media coverage during congresses and events
Draft and edit communications such as newsletters, announcements, press releases, web updates, and member emails
Maintain a consistent tone of voice and brand identity across channels
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Health, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in social media and communications (international experience strongly preferred)
Excellent command of English, both written and spoken
Excellent command of German, both written and spoken
Strong proofreading and editing skills
Keen eye for detail
Strong creative writing skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Experience with various social media channels
Willingness to acquire new skills with software applications
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to travel to congresses (approx. three times per year)
Desirable qualifications

The minimum starting salary is € 2,500 gross, with the option to negotiate based on the qualification and experience of the candidate
