We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented specialist to play a key role in advancing our multi-model forecasting approach. Your work will help ensure robust, precise, and scalable forecasts.

Your main responsibilities are:
* Further develop and enhance UBIMET’s integrated multi-model forecasting approach
* Drive the development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of numerical weather prediction (NWP) models
* Optimize and improve forecast quality with a focus on severe weather events such as thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, wind gusts, snowfall, and freezing rain
* Analyze large meteorological datasets and model outputs from various sources, identify patterns and areas for improvement, and translate findings into actionable model improvements
* Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team of meteorologists, data scientists, and software developers
* Process, visualize, and clearly communicate simulation and analysis results
What you need to be successful:
* Master’s degree (or higher) in Meteorology, Physics, Atmospheric Sciences, or a related field
* Hands-on experience in working with and developing meteorological forecasting models
* Strong understanding of numerical weather prediction (NWP) and model evaluation
* Solid programming skills in Python
* Experience working in a Linux environmentExcellent English skills; German is a plus
* Structured, goal-oriented, and results-driven approach
