Role Purpose

The purpose of a Consultant at PeopleBench is to play a pivotal role in delivering significant consulting and advisory projects, supporting the Senior Consultant and Chief Consultant, and contributing to the continued success of the Advisory arm of our practice.


Key Capabilities

* Outstanding team and client relationship development and management skills
* Excellent communication skills (including attentive listening, verbal and written)
* Demonstrated flexibility, agility, and creative problem‑solving abilities
* Knowledge and some applied use of relevant consulting industry frameworks and methodologies.
* Ability to contribute strategically while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
* Strong planning and management skills, both upward and across teams, to achieve project delivery on time, within budget, and surpassing client expectations
* Proficient facilitation and presentation skills (or experience of co‑facilitation e.g. client workshops).
* Proficient one‑on‑one interview skills for consultation purposes
* Excellent qualitative data analysis and business writing skills
* Unwavering commitment to delivering high‑quality results and client output / deliverables
* Excellent time management & prioritisation skills and the ability to successfully manage tasks related to multiple projects simultaneously
* Self‑motivated with a growth mindset and desire to continue learning & personal development.
* Proactive approach with a focus on future‑oriented thinking and ability to use initiative
* Proficiency in the MS Office suite and other collaborative software/applications such as Zoom, Asana, Miro, Confluence, Xero, Slack etc.


Key Responsibilities

* Establishing and nurturing client relationships, gaining comprehensive knowledge of their ongoing and emergent support requirements
* Designing, documenting, and actively contributing to client engagement proposals for future work, including offer and tender documentation development
* Supporting clients in diagnosing complex organisational challenges, spanning areas such as Organisational Reviews, Workforce and Organisational Strategy, Service Transformation, Strategic HR, Organisational Development Services, Governance & Performance, Capability & Leadership Development, and Building Resilience at Work
* Independently facilitating one‑on‑one interviews and group workshops and presentations (client consultation process)
* Contributing to future‑focused planning, brainstorming and design conversations regarding recommendations and the future state of client teams, roles or organisational structures
* Managing detailed programme and project schedules, ensuring that reporting meets client requirements and that engagements are delivered on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction
* Cultivating positive and productive relationships within the PeopleBench team and actively contributing as a collaborative team member, including outside of the Advisory team
* Maintaining a commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with contemporary practitioner knowledge and networks
* Project related administration and planning, including creating and updating detailed project plans, internal and external stakeholder management, invoicing, and CRM software updating (deal and pipeline information etc.)


Experience & Qualifications

Ideally the successful incumbent will have 1‑2 years experience working in a Human Capital Management team or similar consulting environments and hold tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Human Resource Management, Commerce or other social science/humanities related discipline.


Relationships

The Consultant reports to the Chief eXperience Officer and, through a collaborative and mutually respectful work style, will be expected to coordinate and support other members of the PB team through programmes of work on behalf of clients and other affiliates.

This will include but is not limited to: Chief Research & Insights Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Research Program Manager, internal Senior Consultants and Graduate Consultants, our Marketing and Communications function, Corporate Services Manager and a range of affiliate or interim team members who form part of our growing delivery network.


Travel and Networking

As part of the work we do for our clients, we are sometimes called upon to travel. The Consultant is therefore expected to complete some work‑related travel associated with interstate or regional clients, from time to time.

There may be occasions where professional networking and development opportunities occur outside of work hours. The Consultant would be expected to engage, participate and represent PeopleBench as required.
