Turn ideas into objects you can hold in your hand.
We build award-winning smart glasses in Vienna - hardware, firmware, software, all under one roof. At the heart of it all is mechanical design: the discipline that makes everything real. We're looking for an engineer who gets excited when a sketch becomes a prototype, and a prototype becomes a product shipped to customers around the world.
This isn't a CAD-jockey role. It's creative, precise, and deeply satisfying.
Tasks
* Own the full mechanical design cycle - from early concepts through prototyping to series production
* Create and evolve components and assemblies in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, or similar)
* Translate product ideas into manufacturable designs, balancing additive and traditional production methods
* Design compact, precise mechanical solutions that integrate seamlessly with optics, electronics, and embedded systems
* Manage technical documentation and drawing releases with care and structure
* Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams across development, quality, production, and product management
Requirements
* A completed technical education (TU/FH/HTL) in mechanical engineering or industrial design
* 3‑6 years of hands‑on experience in mechanical design and product development
* Strong proficiency in 3D CAD
* Solid understanding of prototyping, 3D printing, injection molding, and other manufacturing techniques
* A structured way of working, with experience in design reviews, documentation, and change management
* A strong sense for product design – your solutions are technically sound and visually refined
* Bonus points for experience with product certification, variant management, or quality processes
* Fluent English; German is a bonus
* Valid work permit for Austria
Nice to have
* Experience with FEM simulation (static analysis)
* Experience with PDM (Product Data Management)
* Ray tracing simulation / renderings
Benefits
* Salary: €3.800 – €5.200 gross/month depending on experience
* Yearly public transport card (Vienna)
* Workation within the EEA
* Dog‑friendly offices
* "Inspire Days" – time to learn and recharge
* A front‑row seat to how a deep‑tech hardware product gets built – from PCB to shipped device
* Small, international team where your impact is visible every day
