Position Overview
University Professor (all genders) – Specialization: Software and Systems Engineering
Institute of Information Systems Engineering, Faculty of Informatics, TU Wien. Full‑time permanent appointment starting March 1 2026.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in German and English.
* Lead and manage an internationally oriented research group.
* Secure and manage research funding, including project acquisition, execution and reporting.
* Contribute to faculty management and service activities.
Research Focus
* Software engineering with AI‑assisted development and automated repair.
* Software testing, analysis and evolution, emphasizing scalability, automation and empirical validation.
* Empirical and data‑driven software engineering with large‑scale datasets and industry collaborations.
* Secure, reliable and responsible software engineering meeting technical, legal and ethical standards.
* Software development methods and life‑cycle management.
* Emerging systems engineering paradigms, including quantum software engineering.
Qualifications
* PhD in Computer Science or related field.
* Academic teaching qualification.
* Strong research record with publications in internationally recognized journals, patents, awards and conference organization.
* Experience with national and international collaborations and network building.
* Track record in securing, executing and managing research projects.
* Ability to manage a research group.
* Teaching proficiency in German and English.
* Supervision of bachelor, diploma, master and PhD theses.

* On‑site presence required.
