Customs Trade Compliance Professional
This role requires an individual with excellent analytical and organizational skills to ensure seamless customs and trade compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of customs regulations and be able to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
Responsibilities
* Process import and export transactions, including monitoring dual-use goods for embargoed countries;
* Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with international trade;
* Stay up-to-date on changes to free trade agreements and EU regulations, such as the Customs Tariff and F-GAS Directive;
* Draft and disseminate information on current customs regulations;
* Classify goods independently using the Harmonized System;
* Manage customs documents, export records, and statistical reports;
* Contribute to the development and implementation of our internal customs control system;
* Collaborate with customs authorities and transport companies;
* Coordinate packaging planning and execution;
* Assist with outgoing goods preparation and carton/box management;
* Support warehouse activities, such as labeling and relocation.
Requirements
* Relevant education or training in customs, trade, or a related field (e.g., industrial or freight forwarding specialist);
* Minimum 3 years of professional experience in customs, preferably in an international environment;
* Proficiency in German and English languages;
* Familiarity with MS Office applications;
* Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is desirable;
* A forklift license is advantageous;
* Ability to work independently and accurately;
* Strong resilience, flexibility, and teamwork skills.
Benefits
This position is governed by the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement for employees in the Metal Technology Industries in occupation group D or E, depending on education. Salary is negotiable based on expertise and qualifications. Payment is made 14 times per year.
