As a Community Engagement Officer, you will be contributing to the development and implementation of community engagement strategies and providing high level administrative support to the Events & Functions Coordinator and Community Engagement Advisors.
About the Role
* High level communications, computer and administrative skills
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
* Competency in drafting correspondence on behalf of the Minister to community members and groups
* Willingness to assist at community events, including after hours
* Have integrity, discretion and confidentiality
You will:
* Maintain relevant databases to ensure integrity of information
* Prepare and coordinate outgoing correspondence and responses to incoming correspondence
* Assist with the processing of events, including coordinating run sheets and speech notes
* Key liaison for official Protocol NT functions
* Research and identify opportunities for grass‑roots community engagement
* Be responsible for preparing and designing communication material
* Support Ministerial offices to coordinate attendance at required events
* Build strong connections with Territory communities, including business and industry, community and sporting groups
* Engage with government agencies to facilitate ministerial briefs and correspondence
* Attend after hours events as required
