Your Future Responsibilities: As part of the DireQT project, we are developing an integrated platform for quantum information processing. We are looking for a motivated digital ASIC/MPSoC designer to develop next‑generation quantum system‑on‑chip solutions. Key Responsibilities
Drive innovation in analog/mixed‑signal (AMS) IC design for quantum applications
Design and layout analog building blocks (e.g., LDOs, bandgaps, DACs, ADCs) including verification, testing, and characterization
Perform hands‑on lab measurements using oscilloscopes, power supplies, and spectrum analyzers
Lead and contribute to research projects, including publishing scientific papers or patents
Represent SAL at international conferences and expand the scientific network
Project management and acquisition in collaboration with scientific and industrial partners
Supervise and mentor students, interns, and junior team members
Support knowledge transfer through training and internal collaboration
Ensure successful project execution with a focus on customer satisfaction and long‑term partnerships
Required Experience & Skills
A PhD degree in Electrical Engineering
3–5 years experience with schematic and layout circuit design tools
Knowledge of analog design circuits such as ADC and DAC
Strong knowledge of analog circuits like amplifiers, LDO, bandgap, current sources
Hands‑on FPGA design experience
Programming skills with Python, HDL (Verilog or VHDL)
HDL coding for ASIC integration is a plus
Autonomous, self‑initiative, well‑organized, and collaborative in a dynamic team
Professional communication skills in English; German language is a plus
Willingness to relocate to Villach, Austria
