AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to continuously released new products that set AWS apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers requiring specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

The validation team is at the forefront of the hardware lifecycle, supporting the project from emulation, through initial bring-up and validation, to integrating customer feedback into tools and workloads. We are seeking a Software Development Engineer II to join the validation team and ensure our newest hardware delights customers!
Key job responsibilities
* Develop chip-level and system-level validation plans focused on customer needs
* Create workloads and tools to enable validation, tested using emulation environments
* Execute validation plans, debug failures, and communicate with project stakeholders
* Enable other teams to use workloads and tools for characterization and other project phases
* Share debug strategies through teaching and collaboration

Mentorship & Career Growth

- 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship)
- 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, scaling)
- Proficiency in at least one programming language
- 3+ years of experience covering the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
