Staff Scientist - Embedded AI (all genders)
We are looking for an experienced AI/ML Researcher to lead high-quality, industry‑relevant research in machine learning and signal processing. You will work in a team with strong connections to international academic and industry partners.
* Developing AI/ML models to analyze data and solve real‑world problems, such as in computer vision or signal processing.
* Designing experiments to rigorously compare your methods with relevant baselines.
* Acquiring, managing, and executing research projects with industrial and academic partners, in close collaboration with team members.
* Publishing results in peer‑reviewed international conferences and scientific journals.
Your profile:
* PhD in Computer Science or a related field such as Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Mechatronics, or Physics.
* At least 4 years of practical experience in AI/ML and data science, ideally applied to real‑world problems.
* Strong understanding of vision data and processing.
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
* Proficiency in Python and its data science ecosystem (e.g., scikit‑learn, PyTorch).
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Collaborative, self‑motivated, and goal‑oriented.
* Fluent in English; German is an advantage.

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non‑university research (Research CA) in occupational group G (G1 salary = EUR 5.546, paid 14 times a year). Your actual salary depends on your experience and qualifications. We offer a gross salary in the range between EUR 85.000 to EUR 120.000 (annual, based on an All‑in contract and bonus).
