Senior Financial Controller (m/f/d)
In this pivotal role, you will be the crucial link between detailed financial data and executive-level strategic decisions. You will not only manage core controlling processes but also play an active part in the overall bank steering ("Gesamtbanksteuerung"). Your mission is to translate complex numerical analysis into clear, compelling, and actionable insights for the C-suite.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and coordinate the bank's budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year strategic planning processes
* Conduct in-depth variance analyses (actual vs. plan/forecast) and deliver insightful commentary on business performance
* Develop and enhance financial models to support decision-making, scenario analysis, and profitability calculations for infrastructure financing deals
* Act as a key business partner to various departments, providing financial guidance and support
* Contribute to the integrated steering of the bank's balance sheet, P&L, and capital
* Design, prepare, and present high-impact management reports, dashboards, and presentations for the Management Board, Supervisory Board, and other senior stakeholders
* Transform complex datasets into intuitive and powerful data visualizations using e.g. Power BI
* Articulate the "story behind the numbers," providing clear strategic recommendations to support top-level decision-making
Requirements
* University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field with a focus on Finance/Controlling
* A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant professional experience in a controlling or FPA function within the banking or financial services industry
* Strong understanding of banking products and the mechanics of a bank's balance sheet and P&L
* Solid knowledge of bank steering concepts and regulatory frameworks (e.g., CRR, CRD)
* Exceptional analytical and numerical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
* Advanced proficiency in MS Excel; experience with BI & data visualization tools is a significant advantage
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the proven ability to convey complex topics to senior management effectively.
* Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work both independently & collaboratively in a team
* Fluent in English; proficiency in German is highly desirable
This position is subject to the collective agreement for banks and bankers. The minimum gross annual salary starts at EUR 80,000, based on the above requirements. A market-standard salary above this is of course possible, depending on your experience and qualifications.
