Finance Manager – Automotive & Mobility – Vienna
Our client is part of a publicly listed international group operating across the automotive and mobility sectors. With a strong presence across multiple markets, the company specializes in automotive distribution, services, and related commercial operations. As part of its continued European expansion, the group is currently establishing its operations in Austria and building a local team to support long‑term growth.
About the role:
We are looking for a hands‑on Finance Manager to establish and lead the finance function for the company’s Austrian entity. This is a key role in a setup environment, combining financial oversight with operational involvement. The position will act as the bridge between local operations and the global finance organization, ensuring strong financial governance while supporting commercial activities on the ground.
Job Responsibilities:
* Take full ownership of the local entity’s financial operations, including accounting, P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow management
* Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to the international group in line with IFRS standards and quarterly reporting deadlines
* Support the establishment of the local financial infrastructure, including ERP implementation and digital finance workflows
* Act as a strategic finance partner to the General Manager, supporting procurement processes, vendor negotiations, and operational decision‑making
* Manage relationships with external partners such as tax advisors and auditors, ensuring compliance with Austrian financial regulations
* Oversee VAT and other local tax‑related matters and ensure smooth financial operations with suppliers and service providers
* Support the development of internal processes and financial controls as the Austrian operation grows
Requirements:
* MUST: 3–5 years of experience in Controlling or Finance Management within a commercial, retail, wholesale, or automotive environment
* MUST: Strong understanding of IFRS and Austrian UGB accounting standards
* MUST: Native or fluent German and professional working proficiency in English
* Experience working in goods‑based businesses such as retail, trade, distribution, or automotive
* Strong Excel skills and experience with modern ERP systems (e.g., BMD, SAP, or similar)
* Ability to work independently and take ownership in a standalone finance role
* Strong attention to detail with a proactive, hands‑on approach to problem‑solving
