RAILWAY PROJECT ENGINEER
Location: Munich
Contract Length: 12 Months (with possibility of permanent employment)
Rate: Up to €80 per hour
I’m working with a client based in Munich who specialises in cutting‑edge railway technologies and high‑impact infrastructure projects. They’re currently looking for a Project Engineer to join their growing team and play a key role in delivering innovative solutions in signalling and train safety systems.
This is a 12‑month contract position with the potential for permanent employment after the initial term, ideal for professionals looking to make a meaningful impact in the rail sector while exploring long‑term career opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Define optimal technical solutions and support proposal preparation
* Specify, track, and test hardware/software development packages
* Coordinate technical requirements with internal teams and clients
* Monitor project KPIs and ensure objectives are met
* Manage work packages, ensuring timely delivery within budget
* Maintain project plans, manage risks and changes
* Communicate project objectives and oversee technical activities
Your Profile
* Fluent in German (C1‑C2) and English (C1)
* Minimum 3 years of experience as a project engineer or team lead
* Degree in electrical engineering, electronics, computer science, or similar
* Strong knowledge of German railway signalling and control systems
* At least 3 years in the railway sector
* Proficient in Microsoft Office
* Experience in engineering project planning and risk/resource management
* Ideally familiar with software development processes and tools like Primavera
* Expertise in rail transport, telecommunications, or electrical engineering is desirable
* Experience in system architecture and leading engineering teams
* Knowledge of bid preparation
