Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of 16 Supported Independent Living accommodations in Adelaide. In this role, you will lead and support staff to deliver high-quality, person-centered services that meet the needs of NDIS participants. You will ensure compliance with NDIS practice standards, promote best practices, and work closely with participants, families, and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes. Responsibilities:
* Provide supervision to operational staff and team leaders across 16 supported independent living accommodations in Adelaide, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services in line with relevant legislative provisions, NDIS practice standards, organisational policies, and contemporary best practices.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NDIS frameworks, funding initiatives, contemporary service delivery trends, and best practices to ensure high-quality support for participants.
* Liaise and collaborate with key stakeholders, including participants, their families, guardians, allied health professionals, and external agencies, to promote effective coordination, integration, and delivery of individualised, person-centered support services.
* Participate as a member of the management team, contributing to strategic and operational planning, service reviews, and key decision-making to continuously improve service delivery outcomes.
* Maintain and monitor effective recording, reporting, and data management systems to ensure the efficient and accountable management of services provided within the supported independent living accommodations.
* Liaise with the house leadership team to provide ongoing recruitment feedback, professional development, and culturally responsive supervision and leadership, fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
* Support the team leaders to ensure Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) issues are identified and addressed across the accommodations. Oversee the availability of necessary safety equipment and ensure all equipment and practices adhere to WHS standards, ensuring a safe environment for participants and staff.
* Develop and implement strategies to address operational challenges across multiple accommodations, ensuring consistency in service delivery while catering to the unique needs of participants.
* Act as a central point of contact for escalation and crisis management, ensuring a timely and appropriate response to any critical incidents within accommodations.
* Minimum qualification of a Diploma of Community Services and Management certification and/or management experience.
* Minimum of four (4) years of experience within the Disability sector.
* Valid clearances including:
o NDIS Worker Check
o Working with Children Check
o Police Check (no older than 12 months)
o First Aid and CPR certification
o Right to Work in Australia
o Drivers License and access to a reliable vehicle
* Proven experience working with individuals with complex disabilities, including behavioural support needs.
* Strong understanding of disability rights, person-centred approaches, and trauma-informed care principles.
* Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
