Role Overview
The Field Service Engineer (m/w/d) is the central contact for our customers within the assigned territory, handling service-related topics across all product areas. Responsibilities include planning and executing installations, maintenance, and repairs of hardware and software systems independently and on schedule, following guidelines and technical documentation. This involves telephone support, remote maintenance, and on-site customer visits. The goal is to ensure professional, efficient, and cost-effective service, contributing to high customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
* Serve as the central contact for customers in the assigned territory regarding service-related topics across all product areas.
* Proactively monitor and support assigned systems through digital tools.
* Diagnose and resolve technical issues with radiation therapy devices via telephone, remote support, or on-site visits.
* Plan and perform installation, maintenance, and repair activities independently within the assigned product area and territory.
* Travel to other locations as required by business needs.
* Systematically plan work steps considering overall system interconnections.
* Maintain regular communication with service and sales management regarding current issues or problems affecting customer satisfaction.
* Promote customer satisfaction through professional and sales-oriented behavior.
* Adhere to applicable regulations during work activities (e.g., StrlSchG, MPG, IEC, UVV).
* Document support activities according to Elekta's guidelines and procedures.
* Share information internally to improve the quality of installed systems.
Qualifications
* Completed studies in engineering or natural sciences, or at least a certified technician qualification.
* Good knowledge of IT/network technology.
* Experience in medical imaging, linear accelerators, or clinical radiation therapy applications is preferred.
* Knowledge in dosimetry is advantageous.
* Excellent German skills and good English skills, both written and spoken.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
* Interest and curiosity for self-directed learning.
* Excellent communication skills and enjoyment in interacting with people.
* High self-organization, teamwork, and responsibility.
* Exceptional motivation and flexibility.
* Willingness to travel frequently and a valid driver's license class B.
