Outstanding chance to join an early stage AI start-up
Our client is a well-funded, early-stage AI startup between seed stage and series A. This is a foundational hire, offering the opportunity to define and build the entire marketing function from scratch early stage. What makes it unique is that this is a chance to enter the AI market without prior AI industry experience, as long as you bring excellent experience defining marketing at a successful start-up before.
- Own and define the company's end-to-end marketing strategy from 0 → 1
- Develop clear positioning, messaging, and category narrative in a highly dynamic AI landscape
- Work closely with founders to shape product-market fit and go-to-market direction
- Translate a technically complex product into compelling, accessible storytelling
- Design and execute early-stage growth experiments across channels
- Build initial demand generation engine (content, partnerships, founder-led growth, community)
- Establish key performance metrics and feedback loops to drive iteration
- Create scalable foundations for future acquisition and brand growth
- Build a distinct and credible brand presence in a crowded and fast-evolving AI market
- Develop thought leadership initiatives that position the company as a trusted voice in AI decision-making
- Craft narratives that build trust and differentiation, particularly around reliability and accuracy
- Own the creation of core marketing assets (website, content, tools, analytics setup)
- Select and implement lightweight, effective marketing tech stack suited for an early-stage environment
- Operate in a highly hands-on manner with limited initial resources
- Define hiring roadmap and scale the marketing function over time
- Build a lean, high-performing team, once product-market fit and initial traction are achieved
- Candidates from outside AI are explicitly encouraged to apply, provided they bring strong 0→1 marketing capabilities and a proven execution track record
- Proven experience building marketing in an early-stage start-up regardless of the specific industry (Seed → Series A/B or similar growth phase)
- Track record of being part of a successful scale-up, fundraising journey, or exit
- Strong hands-on execution capability combined with strategic thinking
- Experience creating category positioning and early traction from scratch
- Comfortable operating in small, fast-moving, ambiguous environments without structure
- International outlook and ability to work in a remote, distributed setup
