What you'll do
* Monitor security events and alerts across systems (e.g., SIEM, EDR, cloud logs, IAM) and perform first-level triage to identify and validate potential incidents.
* Classify events by severity, determine scope and business impact, and initiate response actions in line with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
* Act as a technical incident responder; manage the lifecycle of an event including containment, eradication, recovery, and validation of service restoration.
* Coordinate incident handling with relevant control functions (e.g., Risk, Compliance, and Group IT) according to defined escalation paths and governance.
* Maintain complete incident records (timelines, actions taken, indicators of compromise, affected assets) to support internal audits and regulatory reporting.
* Conduct post-incident reviews and root cause analysis; track technical remediation actions to closure and validate their effectiveness.
* Support vulnerability identification and prioritization (scanning outputs, threat intel, patch status) and coordinate remediation efforts with system owners.
* Assist with technical security assessments of critical service providers and vendors to ensure compliance with operational resilience standards.
* Provide technical guidance and awareness support to internal teams, including phishing simulation follow-ups and advisory on the secure handling of sensitive data.
* Perform other security tasks, research, and project support as instructed by the CISO to support security posture and regulatory compliance.
What you'll need
* Experience: 2–5+ years in Security Operations (SOC), Incident Response, or IT Security Engineering; experience in financial services, fintech or crypto is a plus.
* Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with AWS security services (e.g., IAM, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, KMS) and familiarity with SIEM/EDR platforms, log analysis, and network fundamentals.
* Incident Handling: Demonstrated ability to follow structured incident response processes and perform technical investigations under time pressure.
* Communication: Strong written communication for incident reports and stakeholder updates; ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
