We are seeking a Director – Commercial & Quantum with experience in major infrastructure projects within Australia and surrounding Asia Pacific region. Experience in multiple sectors including energy infrastructure, renewable power and utilities, transport, oil and gas, and buildings will be highly regarded.
To adequately support the organisation with projects in Australia and Asia Pacific, you will be an accredited testifying expert in quantum and delay with a background in civil engineering, infrastructure, quantity surveying, legal or similar. Experience as an appointed expert in arbitration, litigation, and being cross‑examined by counsel will be vital to fulfilling the requirements of this role. You will also possess an exceptional ability to provide written and oral evidence to tribunals and committees.
Key responsibilities
Head contract administration and management
Review of contract terms and conditions
Commercial claims preparation, drafting and negotiating
Review and break down claims, assess merits for purported claims
Detailing of facts and prepare relevant delay analysis to better understand event impacts on projects
Identify, analyse and manage commercial risk. Prepare mitigation strategies.
Alignment of downstream subcontracts
Cash‑flow forecasting and analysis. Budget development.
Implementation of project planning
Experience and skills
Minimum 10 years post graduate experience
Minimum 7 years of quantum claims experience is essential for this role
Experience in both arbitration and litigation is required for this position.
Testifying expert witness in quantum and delay
Minimum 5+ years of testifying expert witness experience is required
Strong working knowledge of contract administration and management
Relevant formal qualifications in quantity surveying. Chartered preferred.
Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying is required
Stakeholder management and ability to influence desired outcomes
Strong financial and commercial acumen
Project controls experience is desirable
Adept at project and change management
Australian permanent residency or citizenship is required for this position
