Maritime Constructions is a marine contractor, uniquely capable of self-performing the full spectrum of specialised engineering disciplines to deliver complex near-shore marine infrastructure projects from design and construction through to commissioning. Projects include jetties, wharves, bulk loading facilities, dredging, reclamation, navigation aids, marinas, underwater pipelines.

Having experienced continuous and significant growth, we're now looking for a highly experienced Learning and Development Manager to join our team. You'll be joining a skilled team of experts in their field, providing a rich learning environment and contributing to our teams professional development.

About the role:

The Learning and Development Manager is focused on bringing Maritime Constructions strategic training vision to fruition, through planning and developing training programs in partnership with internal SME's, designing impactful and technically succinct modules and materials, utilising internal L&D programs to build and deliver tiered inductions and trainings. These programs will emphasise our commitment to developing our people and readying us for the next phase of growth. This role will conduct training needs analyses and contribute to workforce skills forecasting, ensuring viability, efficiency, and sustainability of Maritime Construction's growing deliverables.

Key Objectives:

* Lead and oversee the learning and development function, ensuring quality delivery of focussed training incentives.
* Design engaging, relevant and challenging training material that will drive employee buy-in and increase Maritime Constructions employee development initiatives.
* Build and implement capability frameworks aligned to organisational goals and workforce planning needs.
* Improve workforce skills, knowledge, and productivity through targeted upskilling and career development initiatives.
* Design and implement practical competency testing for specialised equipment operations.
* Establish minimum achievement levels for each training area and drive a minimum pass rate of 90% average for all participant trainees.
* Establish and maintain an induction and onboarding program that supports employee retention and rapid role readiness.
* Create leadership and technical development pathways to build future workforce capability.
* Implement systems to track, measure, and report on training effectiveness and return on investment.

This role will report into the Head of People, Culture and Safety and work closely with SME's, Business Unit Leaders, and Project Managers.

Skills and Experience:

* Exceptional organisational skills
* Understanding of technical documentation and structured training plans
* Experience designing tiered training programs and materials tailored to different learning styles
* Advanced skills in assessing training needs through gap analysis and evaluating program effectiveness through feedback and metrics
* Undertake accurate assessment and record keeping, ensuring compliance remains consistent
* Track deliverables and produce a data driven monthly report

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organisational Development, Education/Training, Psychology, or a related field - preferred
* Postgraduate qualification (e.g. Graduate Diploma or Master’s) in Organisational Development, HRM, Adult Education, or Leadership - highly regarded.
* Cert IV in Training and Assessment - Required
* 5+ Years experience with instructional design - Required
* Experience in the construction or marine construction industry - Desirable
* Valid Driver’s License - Required
* Current National Police Check - Required
* Current Working with Children Check - Required
* Current Right to work in Australia - Required

Salary will be negotiated and commensurate with experience.
