We are hiring a Data Scientist (generalist) to drive research, win projects, and translate cutting‑edge ML and (Gen) AI into industrial impact.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead the development and deployment of advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI solutions for pharmaceutical R&D and manufacturing.
* Design and manage robust data pipelines, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (GxP, FDA, EMA, EU AI-Act).
* Acquire and manage research projects (funded or industrial consortia): identify opportunities, co-write proposals, and oversee delivery.
* Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (pharmacists, chemists, process engineers, simulation and modelling experts) to identify and solve relevant challenges in the pharmaceutical industry.
* Mentor junior staff and guide best practices in coding, analytics, and project execution, fostering a culture of innovation.
* Represent RCPE in scientific and industrial networks; presenting results to technical and non‑technical stakeholders and supporting business development activities.
REQUIREMENTS
* Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Bioinformatics or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience applying machine learning and advanced analytics, strong skills in Python, as well as in ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
* Ability to translate complex datasets, e.g. process or time-series data into compelling visual narratives and actionable insights.
* Strong problem‑solving and innovation mindset, with experience in mentoring or supervising team members.
* Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work across disciplines in high-stakes environments.
* Good to have:
* Publications or research experience on (pharmaceutical) data science topics
* Previous experience in physics-informed ML or NLP/LLM
