Locomotive Driver
We are seeking a Locomotive Driver to take charge of traction units in accordance with specified guidelines, ensuring the safety equipment is checked and the traction unit is put into operation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for checking and ensuring the completeness and currency of necessary documents, conducting brake tests, and verifying train data. Other responsibilities include carrying out train, shunting, and special operations in compliance with normative provisions, troubleshooting traction units as per instructions, performing vehicle checks, and assisting in securing vehicle loads. The Locomotive Driver will also be responsible for shunting line operations, journey preparation for locomotive trains, customer service tasks, and handing over the traction unit to the replacement vehicle when necessary. Additionally, the role involves conducting closing activities, depositing train documents, damage reports, arranging vehicle decommissioning, coupling activities, securing locomotives and wagons, and instructing junior staff in accordance with guidelines. Participation in periodic training and continuing education courses is also expected.
