The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Medical University of Vienna invites applications for a fully funded PhD position in the area of Artificial Intelligence Driven Online Adaptive Radiotherapy (AIDA). This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the advancement of AI methodologies in cancer treatment through radiation therapy.
Requirements
– Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field (minimum 300 ECTS)
– Demonstrated interest in the application of AI to radiation oncology
– Strong analytical abilities and capacity for independent research
– Basic knowledge of radiology or radiation oncology is preferred
– Proficiency in English, both oral and written
Position Details
– Full PhD enrollment in Program N094
– Three-year funding (30 hours per week), including salary, health insurance, and support for research and travel
– Access to advanced technologies in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment
Responsibilities
– Development and testing of software tools for online adaptive radiotherapy
– Research on deformable image registration and adaptive workflows, with a focus on pelvic tumors
