IT Project Manager - Innovation & Prototyping

In this role, you’ll take full ownership of innovation projects—from ideation to realizing prototypes—leveraging both SaaS tools and custom-built solutions in collaboration with internal and external partners. Your work will accelerate technology adoption and digital transformation across our global business units.

PROJECT OWNERSHIP AND DELIVERY
As the Innovation Project Manager, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and pilot projects, ensuring they are executed on time and deliver measurable outcomes. You will take full ownership of the project lifecycle, managing everything from scoping and budgeting to vendor selection, implementation, and final handover. Additionally, you’ll strategically balance buy solutions, such as leveraging startups and SaaS tools, with build approaches like custom development, ensuring the best fit for each initiative.
INNOVATION AND AGILE PRACTICES
In this role, you will act as the product owner for various innovation initiatives, translating complex business needs into clear and actionable backlogs. You’ll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external development partners, working in agile sprints to drive progress and deliver results. By continuously improving internal processes and fostering a culture of feedback, you’ll ensure innovation efforts remain efficient and impactful.
GENERATIVE AI AND EMERGING TECH INTEGRATION
You will play a pivotal role in evaluating and integrating Generative AI into our software development and intelligent automation projects. By identifying and assessing new tools and platforms, you will help enhance our innovation capabilities and position the organization at the forefront of emerging technology adoption. Furthermore, you’ll contribute to building a culture of AI upskilling and experimentation within the team, driving innovation forward.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION
Collaboration will be key in this role. You will work closely with IT, business teams, and external vendors to align goals and ensure seamless project execution. You’ll also facilitate engaging demos and workshops to promote transparency, shared learning, and alignment among stakeholders. Finally, you’ll document and communicate project outcomes effectively, providing insights that guide strategic decision-making.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:
* 4+ years of experience in IT project management, product ownership, or related AI / digital innovation roles
* Solid understanding of agile methodologies, sprint planning and project budgeting
* Passionate about innovation, skilled in agile methodologies and excited by the possibilities of emerging technologies like Generative AI
* Basic development (e.g. scripts, APIs, low-code tools) or design skills are a strong plus
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Results-oriented and proactive person with a hands-on mindset
Due to legal reasons we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary according to the collective agreement for this position, which is EUR 2,471 gross per month. However, our attractive compensation package is based on market-oriented salaries and is therefore significantly above the stated minimum salary.
