Summary
As an Associate Director and Lab Technical Design Expert (R&D), you will create detailed IT solution and service designs based on functional specifications to meet quality, performance, and technical constraints.
You will be responsible for detailed design, development, and delivery of system solutions for Technical Research and Development Labs. Engage with global business leaders and leverage appropriate IT teams to determine requirements and provide data-driven recommendations to improve efficiency and add value.
About the Role
Major accountabilities:
* Design, develop, and deliver system solutions for the Technical R&D Lab, aligning with solution architecture and creating detailed process designs for daily operations.
* Deliver projects and use cases within specific business or technology areas.
* Lead investigations and troubleshoot critical Lab application issues, coordinating with teams to resolve problems.
* Ensure designs adhere to architectural roadmaps and support software/service development, execution, and operations.
* Collaborate across teams, manage projects, lead cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.
* Obtain peer review and sign-off on detailed designs from business stakeholders.
* Ensure designs meet functional and non-functional requirements, traceable to specifications.
* Adhere to security and compliance policies within service delivery.
Key Performance Indicators
* Successful delivery and operation of standardized IT solutions aligned with business and IT strategies.
* Customer satisfaction KPIs are defined, measured, and met.
* User experience and service performance are accepted and rated positively through surveys.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
* Several years of experience in Pharma or IT, particularly in Lab IT domains.
* Expertise in Lab Applications such as LIMS, ELN, Labware, IDBS, Revvity Signals, Chromatography systems, Empower, or Chromeleon.
* Deep understanding of system architecture, Lab business processes, and drug development.
* Knowledge of GXP, 21CFR Part 11, and CSV lifecycle.
* Experience with TRD business processes is preferred.
Additional Experience:
* Knowledge of Project Management, Agile methodologies, digital innovation, data strategy, data science, or data standardization is advantageous.
