As a Data Engineer focusing on Databricks, you will play a key role in building modern, scalable, and high-performance data solutions for our clients. You will be part of our growing Data & AI team, working hands-on with the Databricks platform to solve complex data challenges.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines using Databricks, Spark, and Python.
* Build efficient and scalable ETL processes to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into cloud-based data lakes and warehouses.
* Leverage the Databricks ecosystem (SQL, Delta Lake, Workflows, Unity Catalog) to deliver reliable data workflows.
* Integrate with cloud services such as Azure, AWS, or GCP to enable secure, cost-effective data solutions.
* Contribute to data modeling and architecture decisions to ensure data landscape consistency, accessibility, and maintainability.
* Ensure data quality through validation and adherence to data governance policies.
* Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data needs and deliver actionable solutions.
* Stay updated on advancements in Databricks, data engineering, and cloud technologies to improve tools and approaches.
Your Skills
Essential Skills:
* 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer with Databricks and Apache Spark.
* Strong Python programming skills, including data manipulation libraries (e.g., PySpark, Spark SQL).
* Experience with core Databricks components: Workflows, Unity Catalog, Delta Live Tables.
* Solid understanding of data warehousing principles, ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and database systems.
* Proven cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
* Excellent SQL skills for data querying, transformation, and analysis.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills in English and German (min. B2).
* Ability to work independently and in agile teams.
Beneficial Skills:
* Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and compliance best practices.
* Experience in multi-cloud environments.
* Familiarity with DevOps, Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform), and CI/CD pipelines.
* Interest or experience with machine learning or AI.
* Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Looker.

The actual salary depends on your qualifications and experience. For legal reasons, the minimum annual gross salary for this position, as per the current collective IT agreement, is €53,802.00.
