Job Description:
Our client, EGSTON Power Electronics, is a young, fast-growing company in the power electronics industry, focusing on the development and manufacturing of high-performance Power Hardware-in-the-Loop (PHIL) test and emulation platforms for power electronic systems. Based in Klosterneuburg on the northern outskirts of Vienna, we are an international team passionate about cutting-edge technology and dedicated to developing innovative products, while continuously improving our expertise through active collaboration with customers, suppliers, and external research facilities.
To strengthen the team, we are looking for a:
FPGA Design Engineer (all genders)
As an FPGA Design Engineer, your main focus will be to design, develop, integrate, and test FPGA/SOC solutions for EGSTON’s existing and next-generation PHIL systems.
Your responsibilities include:
* Design and development of FPGA/SOC solutions for power electronics.
* Autonomous development of sophisticated working packages in VHDL / (System) Verilog for AMD (Xilinx) and/or Intel (Altera) devices.
* Utilization of High-Level Synthesis tools (Vivado HLS, Xilinx System Generator, MATLAB Simulink) to accelerate development cycles.
* Analysis and debugging of new and existing packages.
* Preparation of reports, manuals, and documentation on the operation and maintenance of developed applications.
* Collaboration with software and hardware teams to ensure timely and quality releases.
* Supporting industrialization and certification efforts for new and existing products.
* Participation in factory and site acceptance testing of complex customer systems and providing technical support for demos.
Required skills:
* Proficiency in VHDL and/or (System) Verilog.
* Knowledge of CI / CD pipelines.
* Experience with SCM tools (e.g., Atlassian, GitLab, GitHub).
* C/C++ programming for embedded systems.
Preferred skills:
* Experience with Yocto.
* Experience with Intel (Altera) tool flow (Quartus).
* Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and Xilinx System Generator.
* Experience with HIL systems.
* Basic knowledge of power electronics.
* Basic knowledge of electrical engineering.
