Key job responsibilities
As a Sr. Software Development Engineer – Middleware, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design and develop innovative consumer products. You will have experience creating middlewares/servcies on Linux and providing a level of customization required to ship a differentiated product. You will understand what the limitations of the platform are and can design and implement additional services or help optimize existing ones to meet the product requirements. In this role, you will:
- Have in-depth expertise working with Linux distributions on consumer electronics products and dive into specific areas to root cause problems
- Work on creating components on a Linux based OS for consumer electronics products
- Enjoy working side by side with partners, colleagues, and teams on challenging problems
- Thrive in a dynamic environment with multiple, changing priorities
- Take great pride in innovating new products
- Know what's important when releasing software to end users and have been through the process from start to finish
- Work on an Linux based OS and understand how the a new OS for consumer electronics products can be created.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience in embedded development in C/C++
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
