Promote the Gold Coast to domestic and international investors;
Attract and facilitate major new investment projects;
Provide independent commercial advice to Council on investment opportunities; and
Strengthen the local business ecosystem, including export growth.
About the role
The Senior Corporate Treasury Manager is a newly created role leading the daily operations of the Treasury function, working together with the Finance teamwithin the City of Gold Coast, on a 2-year fixed-term contract with potential for extension.This role is responsible for advising and managing the organisation’s financial risk, overseeing liquidity and cash management, supporting capital markets activities, managing banking relationships, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
The Senior Corporate Treasury Manager will be a strategic thinker capable of optimising capital structures and mitigating exposure to currency and interest rate fluctuations, responsible for:
Leading global cash and liquidity management, including cash forecasting, positioning, and intercompany funding to ensure timely fulfilment of financial obligations.
Managing financial risk exposures across foreign exchange, interest rates, and commodities, executing appropriate hedging strategies and monitoring counterparty risk.
Supporting capital markets and funding activities, including debt facilities, bond issuances, covenant compliance, and capital allocation initiatives.
Acting as the primary relationship manager for banks, financial institutions, and credit rating agencies, negotiating fees and reviewing service performance.
Overseeing treasury systems and banking platforms, driving automation and process efficiency.
Maintaining treasury policies and ensuring strong governance, internal controls, audit readiness, and accurate treasury reporting.

High accuracy in cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning.
Optimisation of cost of capital and returns on excess cash within policy guidelines.
Improved operational efficiency through automation and reduced banking costs.
About you
You’re a self-starter who is highly motivated, with 10+ years’ experience in corporate treasury, banking, or corporate finance. You’ll have strong negotiation skills, executive presence, and the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
You’ll have Advanced Excel (VBA/Modelling), Bloomberg, and experience with TMS (e.g. Kyriba, Reval, SAP Treasury). You’ll also have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, with an MBA or post-graduate qualifications and Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) highly preferred.
