The Motor Trade Association SA/NT (MTA) is the peak body representing the automotive retail, service and repair industry in South Australia and the Northern Territory. Our 1,300 members span publicly listed vehicle dealerships, through to independent mechanical repair workshops, service stations and automotive dismantlers. Our registered training organisation (RTO) and group training organisation (GTO), MTA Training and Employment, is a trusted leader training more than 1,100 apprentices and directly employing more than 450. About the Role

The Training Operations Manager is responsible for the operational delivery, quality and compliance integrity of training and assessment across all training programs. Working closely with the General Manager Apprenticeships, Education and Program Development Manager, Student Services Manager and the Compliance Manager, this role ensures that training delivery is consistent, compliant with Quality Area 1 of the 2025 Standards and aligned to the MTA's training and assessment strategies.


What You Will Do

* Lead and develop a distributed workforce of trainers and assessors to ensure consistent delivery standards across all programs.
* Ensure all trainers and assessors maintain required qualification credentials according to the Credential Policy, vocational competency or equivalent industry experience, and industry currency.
* Monitor and manage trainer performance in relation to delivery, quality and compliance expectations.
* Build a culture of accountability, consistency and compliance awareness across the training team.
* Support workforce planning, including recruitment, onboarding, capability development and performance management of training staff.
* Oversee the end to end operational delivery of training and assessment, ensuring alignment with approved Training and Assessment Strategies and the 2025 Standards for RTOs.
* Monitor key delivery performance indicators including student progression, completion outcomes, trainer workload and training schedule integrity.
* Embed compliance controls into daily operations, maintain audit readiness and drive continuous improvement informed by audit findings, feedback and operational data.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, host organisations and student cohorts to support effective training delivery.
* Manage training operations within approved budgets and support delivery capacity planning in line with enrolment demand.
* Promote a safe working and learning environment in compliance with WHS legislation and organisational policies.


What You Will Bring


Essential

* Significant experience in RTO operations, preferably within apprenticeships and traineeships.
* Deep knowledge of RTO Standards and compliance requirements, and funded training contracts and delivery models.
* Proven leadership experience managing multi disciplinary teams.
* Strong understanding of risk, compliance and governance frameworks.
* Demonstrated ability to improve operational performance and quality outcomes.


Desirable

* TAE or higher level adult education qualification.
* Experience working within a risk managed or matrix organisational structure.
* Exposure to multi site training delivery environments.
* Strong systems and data analytics capability.
* Commitment to maintaining current knowledge of VET sector reforms and regulatory changes.
