Your Responsibilities
 * Completing the development agreement with objectives in research, teaching, and administration
 * Active contribution to the working group Complex Social & Computational Systems (CS)² at the IDea_Lab of the University of Graz
 * Management of large data sets for the research group (CS)²
 * Support of the research group (CS)² in research software development
 * Management of the high performance computing (HPC) infrastructure of the research group (CS)² in collaboration with the IT administrator
 * Development and implementation of independent research projects as well as participation in the application for third party funds at the intersection between computer science and the subject areas of the university
 * Networking with relevant stakeholders and supporting university research projects, administrative units, and other stakeholders (e.g., spin-offs and start-ups) in the scientific use of the HPC infrastructure and the application of modern methods from the fields of Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning, in close coordination with the AI & Cloud Manager
 * Collaboration on organizational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures, particularly those derived from the university-wide AI strategy and the ongoing research data governance process
Your Profile
 * Background in computer science or a related field and a completed doctorate/PhD degree
 * In-depth knowledge of working with large data sets and databases
 * Experience in research software development, including in the context of natural language processing and machine learning.
 * Excellent programming skills in Python
 * Excellent written and spoken English skills
 * Good German language skills or willingness to learn German
 * Scientific excellence (demonstrated, for example, by relevant publications in reputable journals appropriate to career stage).
 * Independent and goal-oriented working style
 * High level of teamwork and communication skills
 * Didactic ability to teach independently and experience in holding courses in the field of natural language processing, machine learning, or programming in Python
 * Experience in collaborating with scientists from different disciplines (desirable)
 * Experience in the use or management of HPC infrastructure (desirable)
 * Experience in leading or participating in research and third-party funded projects (desirable)
 * Leadership competencies or training (desirable)
