We are looking for a Senior ETL / Oracle Software Developer to support the design, development, and optimisation of enterprise‑scale data solutions.
In this role, you will play a key part in building and maintaining robust ETL pipelines and data architectures across SAS and Oracle platforms. Working in an Agile environment, you’ll collaborate closely with technical and business stakeholders to deliver high‑quality, scalable data solutions that support critical business outcomes. You’ll also provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to junior developers.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build, test, and maintain ETL solutions and data pipelines using SAS Data Integration Studio and Oracle
* Develop and optimise PL/SQL and SQL for performance, scalability, and reliability
* Lead and support the development, scheduling, and optimisation of Oracle batch jobs
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an Agile (SAFe) environment to translate business requirements into technical solutions
* Participate in data warehouse and reporting design activities
* Ensure data integrity, security, auditability, and compliance are embedded in solution designs
* Document technical designs, architectures, and production support processes
* Conduct code reviews and promote clean code and development best practices
* Mentor and coach junior developers, providing technical leadership across the team
* Support job migration, scheduling, and validation in collaboration with production and operations teams
* Drive continuous improvement by recommending enhancements to development standards and processes
* Profile system and server performance, tuning SQL and application logic as required
Essential Skills & Experience
* 5+ years’ experience delivering ETL solutions using SAS Data Integration Studio, Base SAS, and Oracle
* Strong expertise in PL/SQL development and SQL performance optimisation
* Experience implementing and supporting ETL and batch scheduling (e.g. IBM LSF Flow, Control‑M or similar)
* Proven experience across the SDLC and Agile delivery frameworks (preferably SAFe)
* Solid understanding of database performance tuning, indexing, and optimisation
* Working knowledge of Oracle high availability features
* Strong experience with XML, XPath, and XQuery
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
* Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a multi‑disciplinary team
* Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent practical experience
Desirable Experience
* Oracle Database Certification
* Experience working within Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) environments
* Exposure to additional data and analytics technologies (e.g. SQL Server, GCP, SAS, Cognos, Qlik)
* Strong data profiling, data analysis, and data mapping capabilities
* Experience delivering data remediation, migration, and integration initiatives
* Demonstrated ability to proactively drive outcomes and influence positive change
