Overview
Join to apply for the Production Director role at Mi'pu'mi Games. This is a full-time on-site position in Vienna, Austria. You’ll lead our production team, overseeing all projects at the company, including work-for-hire projects and our own development (such as HOWL or other unannounced projects).
(f/d/m) We are looking for someone who can manage projects based on our own intellectual property and coordinate work for hire projects with international partner companies. You will guide, coordinate, and review the work of your producers and QA managers, collaborating daily to ensure alignment with company goals.
Responsibilities

* Establish systems for planning, measuring, and reporting project progress; continuously refine these systems and processes.
* Coordinate teams and report status, progress, and development outlook to company management.
* Serve as the first point of contact for external partners and internal teams; proactively resolve communication hurdles with clarity and empathy.
* Identify, manage, and mitigate organizational risks; help teams understand and execute the creative director’s vision.
* Act as a guide and coach for producers; understand strengths, raise capability, and make tough calls when needed.
* Travel as required and maintain effective communication across languages (English primarily, German in informal office settings).
Qualifications & Requirements
* Very familiar with workflows and processes in game development; transferable skills from traditional software development or creative agency work are okay to discuss.
* Comfort with budgets, time estimates, sales forecasts, and profit-and-loss calculations.
* Curious and inquisitive; willing to stay up to date on project management methodologies, game development, and QA workflows; actively seek feedback to continuously improve and coach the team.
* At least 5 years of experience in project management and a history of successfully concluding several game projects, including at least one on a current generation console platform.
* Ability to balance confident leadership with humble teamwork; participate in hiring and provide regular performance feedback to producers, QA managers, and other roles.
* Willingness to travel and meet people; comfortable with English as the official company language and German for informal office conversations when needed.
Challenges
* Navigate conflicts when roles are shared across multiple projects and mitigate potential issues.
* Unify external vendor workflows (contacting, feedback, approvals) across projects to reduce variability.
* Maintain morale when some projects are perceived as more appealing than others.
* Address reluctance to delegate responsibilities and manage workload distribution.
