This position reports to
Global Sourcing Category Manager
Your role and responsibilities
1. Ensuring cost optimization for projects within product groups/categories for which you are responsible (e.g., considering total costs of ownership)
2. Proactive market observation and analysis for best cost country sourcing
3. Interface with R&D and suppliers for optimizing specifications and driving cost down second source strategy
4. Leading complex price negotiations and tenders for defined product groups and categories (bundling, benchmarking, e-auctions)
5. Identify and execute cost-driven process improvements along the global supply chain
6. Analyze, control, and report on cost-saving initiatives
7. Facilitate cost workshops with internal and external stakeholders and implement findings
8. Strategic cooperation with global ABB/B&R category teams
Qualifications for the role
* Successful completion of a business or technical degree
* Relevant professional experience of several years in an international procurement environment
* Strong market knowledge and experience, particularly in the field of industrial manufacturing
* Deep knowledge of levers and opportunities to achieve best-in-class costs
* Confident handling of MS Office applications, experience with SAP module MM an advantage
* Very good knowledge of German and English
* Diplomatic and assertive personality with strong negotiating skills
* High level of self-responsibility and a strong result orientation
* Hands-on mentality
