The S&C Education Editor is responsible for leading the creation and delivery of compelling, high-quality education content across all State & Communities (S&C) mastheads, including The Herald Sun, The Daily Telegraph, Adelaide Advertiser, and The Courier Mail. This senior role is critical in driving digital engagement, informing readers on key education issues, and supporting national strategy through collaboration with local newsrooms.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and deliver national education content across print, digital, newsletters, and social media platforms.
2. Set the journalistic tone and ensure all content aligns with editorial and legal standards.
3. Manage the education content calendar, key deadlines, and publication workflows.
4. Drive audience engagement through data-led storytelling, tailored to reader interests and platform trends.
5. Collaborate with S&C masthead teams and internal stakeholders to align content with national strategy and optimize reach.
6. Champion innovation, mentor contributing journalists, and promote a diverse and inclusive newsroom culture.
7. Ensure accuracy, operational efficiency, and delivery of editorial performance targets within budget.
