Your role in our team
As our new Financial Controller (m/f/x), you will join our Finance & Accounting team and play a key role in ensuring accurate and compliant financial operations. You will be responsible for financial reporting and controlling activities while ensuring alignment with Austrian GAAP (UGB) and adherence to local tax regulations.
In this role, you will contribute directly to the financial foundation of our R&D, prototyping, and funding-related activities by delivering valuable analyses and insights that support strategic decision-making across the organization.
How you will make a meaningful contribution – your key responsibilities:
* Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Austrian GAAP (UGB) and local tax regulations
* Collaborate with external auditors and tax authorities during statutory audits and inspections (“Betriebsprüfung”)
* Act as the main interface to Accounting to ensure reliable financial data, review statements, and resolve accounting‑related issues
Management Reporting & Analysis
* Prepare management reports and translate complex financial data into actionable insights for the leadership team
* Perform various analyses and provide recommendations to support business decisions and achieve financial targets
* Conduct ad‑hoc financial and business performance analyses to support strategic initiatives and management requests
Budgeting & Forecasting
* Support budgeting process, including strategic financial planning, rolling forecasts, and variance analyses
* Monitor cost centers and provide in‑depth analyses to drive profitability and operational efficiency
Project & Inventory Controlling
* Contribute to project controlling and BID processes in collaboration with cross‑functional teams
* Oversee quarterly inventory reporting and related accounting processes
Funding & Grants Management
* Manage funding and grant processes, including budgeting, documentation, reporting, and compliance with requirements of national and EU funding agencies
* Support the development and implementation of controlling structures, tools, and standards as the company scales
Process Improvement & Automation
* Drive continuous improvement of controlling and accounting processes, including automation and standardization initiatives
* Identify opportunities to enhance reporting, data quality, and financial processes across the organization
Bring your world class expertise into play
You are fluent in both English and German in writing and verbal at a professional level and can translate complex financial topics for different audiences. Moreover, we are looking for a new colleague who has:
* A University degree in Finance, Accounting, Controlling, or related fields - your educational background is not the most important if you possess the following qualifications:
* 5+ years of experience in a comparable role, ideally within an international environment
* A certified Austrian Balance Sheet Accountant (“Bilanzbuchhalter”) or equivalent qualification; additional Controlling certifications, e.g., WIFI Controller Diploma, are a strong advantage
* Solid knowledge of Austrian GAAP (UBG) and familiarity with Austrian tax regulations
* Experience collaborating with external auditors, tax advisors, and local authorities
* Strong skills in MS Office (especially Excel) and experience with ERP systems, ideally IFS; BI-Tool experience is a plus

This position comes with a salary starting at €5,000.00 per month (for 38.5 hrs/week) – which exceeds the minimum salary according to the applicable collective bargaining agreement for the Electrical and Electronics Industry – with the possibility of higher pay according to your experience and qualifications.
