Overview

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff in clinical and non-clinical roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million, and a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

This is a permanent, full-time post of 37 hours per week. The shift pattern is Monday to Friday, 08:30–16:30. Last working day shorter to reflect reduced working week. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Health Visitor to join our Renfrewshire HSCP Children & Families Health Visiting Team. This post will be based within the Renfrew team.

This is a 37 hours per week post, work pattern Monday - Friday.

We are fully committed to the key ambition and aims of Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC), to provide children and young people with the best possible start in life.

Working as a Health Visitor within the Children and Families Health Visiting team you will provide a high quality, safe, and effective health visiting service in the community, working in collaboration with partner agencies. You will have overall responsibility for the supervision/management of a health visiting caseload, being accountable for the quality of care delivered through robust assessment, referral and communication processes and implementation of evidence-based practice interventions to address need. You should have in-depth knowledge, expertise, proficiency and experience in health visiting, child protection and the GIRFEC/National practice model Framework. Renfrewshire HSCP provides team members with ongoing opportunities for continued learning and development.


Responsibilities

* Provide a high quality, safe, and effective health visiting service in the community in collaboration with partner agencies.
* Supervise/manage a health visiting caseload and ensure quality of care through robust assessment, referral and communication processes.
* Implement evidence-based practice interventions to address needs.
* Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and experience in health visiting, child protection and the GIRFEC/National practice model.


Qualifications

* First level registered nurse with a currently valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
* Post-registration qualification in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing with relevant post-registration experience as a PHN/Health Visitor.
