Responsibilities
* Contribution to a research project regarding tardigrade extremotolerance.
* You work on your dissertation and its completion.
* Participation in publications / academic articles / presentations.
* Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
* Involvement in the organization of meetings, conferences, symposia.
* Administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.
* Supervision of BSc and MSc students.
Qualifications
* University degree in Biology, Molecular Genetics or related fields.
* Successful VBC PhD program selection or similar international PhD selection required.
* Practical experience in handling and genetically manipulating non-model organisms; experience in genetics and cloning; experience with advanced bioinformatics tools.
* Excellent expression in spoken and written English (C1 level).
* Computer literacy (MS-Office; Imaging software).
* Basic experience in academic writing.
* Didactic competences / experience with e-learning.
* Team oriented; knowledge of university processes and structures.
What we offer
* Employment duration: 3 years. Initially 1.5 years; automatic extension to 3 years if the employer does not terminate within the first 12 months. Possible extension to a total maximum of 4 years with progress.
* Fair salary: Job grading according to collective bargaining agreement §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc). Basic salary EUR 3714,80 (full-time) with possible credit for professional experience.
