Digital Analytics Specialist - Web & App Tracking
Linz, Austria
Responsibilities
* Own Tractive's end-to-end tracking across iOS, Android, and web — defining how Live Tracking, Virtual Fences, PSZs, and Health Monitoring are measured so teams can make decisions they trust
* Design and evolve our event taxonomy and KPI frameworks, ensuring every meaningful moment — an escape alert, a health alert, a subscription — is captured consistently and privacy-compliantly
* Implement and maintain web tracking using Google Tag Manager and JavaScript — instrumenting events, debugging, and ensuring reliable data collection in production
* Build scalable analytics assets in BigQuery, dbt, or similar tools that answer questions like “How does PSZ adoption affect retention?” or “What drives free-to-premium conversion?”
* Lead cross‑functional initiatives end‑to‑end — from rethinking feature adoption measurement to building an experimentation framework for onboarding and core flows
* Own the tracking ecosystem — versioning, naming conventions, and QA gates — so the whole company speaks the same measurement language
* Bring in fresh ideas to make Tractive better – you’ll never hear the phrase “...because that’s how we’ve always done things”
* Continuously grow personally and professionally, take ownership of areas that show your potential, and attend workshops to advance your skills
Qualifications
* At least five years of professional experience with app and web tracking — Firebase, Google Analytics, or comparable platforms — and a solid grasp of event‑based measurement across iOS and Android
* Hands‑on experience with Google Tag Manager and a deep understanding of SDK implementation, consent frameworks, and how tracking survives real‑world release cycles
* Strong SQL skills and experience with Redshift, BigQuery, or similar cloud data warehouses; experience with Dataform or dbt for building analytics models is a plus
* Strong experience in implementing marketing pixels, campaign tracking (UTMs), and attribution setups
* Solid experience writing and maintaining JavaScript in production environments (e.g., implementing tracking logic, custom events, data layer interactions, or debugging tracking behavior in the browser)
* Comfort reading code, understanding how apps are built and released, and collaborating with engineers as a peer
* Project management skills and comfort with ticket systems like Jira — plan ahead, communicate blockers, and keep stakeholders informed
* Experience with Looker Studio or similar BI tools, ideally including governance of tracking plans and measurement standards at scale
* Very good English skills
