Job Description
Our Python Agent is a core part of the Dynatrace Platform for automatic instrumentation of Python applications. Our Agents enable customer applications to run faster, reliably and securely. Our OneAgent software is actively deployed across millions of customer environments today, monitoring critical customer applications in various programming languages and platforms.
This role plays a key part in extending our Python Agent offering by implementing new features, changes and improvements to our Python Agent - written in C++ and Python.

Your role
1. Development of performance and availability monitoring solutions for Python applications
2. Working primarily with Python and C++ (for native extensions).
3. Analyzing and understanding the inner workings of common Python application frameworks (Django, Flask, etc.) through debugging, interrogation, etc.
4. Gazing beyond common frameworks with a deep understanding of Python
5. Independent design and implementation of new features and feature ownership
6. Intensive cooperation with local and international development teams
Qualifications
7. Several years of experience as a Software Engineer with Python (priority) and C++
8. Sound knowledge of Python including core packages, asyncio, third-party libraries (Flask, Django, Requests, SQL alchemy, etc.), surrounding infrastructure (Python web server integration, Google App Engine, etc) and development tooling (hatch, ruff, etc.)
9. Understanding how the Python interpreter works
10. Enjoying systems programming and understanding system level concepts (POSIX, multiprocess and multithread applications, etc.)
11. Knowledge of OpenTelemetry is a plus
12. Ability to focus on details but keep the mind open for the whole ecosystem

23. Due to legal reasons, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary for this position, which is € 56,000 gross per year based on full-time employment. We offer a higher salary in line with qualifications and experience.
