Overview
As a Business Development Manager at COPA-DATA, you will grow and strengthen our energy business partner ecosystem across North and South America.
Based in Salzburg, Austria, you will act as a strategic bridge between local partners and global operations, combining industry expertise in Energy with knowledge of our zenon software platform.
This position is part of the Global sales / business development team. The role is classified at least ST1/entry level according to the IT collective agreement. The final gross salary is in line with market based on training, qualifications, and experience.
Responsibilities
* Manage and develop COPA-DATA’s representative organization in Brazil, ensuring alignment with regional sales, marketing, and partner objectives across the Americas.
* Develop and execute energy‑sector business and partner strategies aligned with global goals and regional growth priorities.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with system integrators and key accounts.
* Identify and onboard new partners that align with the long‑term strategy.
* Monitor energy market trends, grid modernization programs, and digitalization initiatives to adapt regional strategy.
* Coordinate partner initiatives and industry projects to ensure impactful delivery and visible business outcomes.
* Support sales teams with energy‑industry insights, value propositions, and competitive positioning during sales pursuits.
* Coordinate communication, forecasting, and strategic planning between COPA-DATA USA Corp. and the representative organization in Brazil to strengthen regional consistency and visibility.
* Collaborate with internal Industry and Product Management to translate energy‑sector needs into solution content and go‑to‑market initiatives.
* Gather and share intelligence on utilities, EPCs, and energy OEM partners to inform regional strategy.
Qualifications
* Technical or business background, e.g., engineer turned into sales.
* Solid experience in business development, partner or account management, ideally in a software‑driven environment.
* Hands‑on experience or strong interest in the Energy Industry (utilities, power generation, transmission, distribution, renewable integration, battery storage).
* Familiarity with industrial automation, digitalization, or software platforms, or ability to learn quickly.
* Confident communicator comfortable working across cultures.
* Fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.
* Experience managing representative or partner organizations across multiple countries (strong plus).
* Ready to travel internationally (at least 20%).
