This newly created role is an exciting opportunity for a driven accounting professional to shape how finance supports a growing, fast‑moving division. As the Divisional Accountant, you will be at the centre of operational performance — turning data into insight, partnering with on‑the‑ground teams, and helping drive the division toward its strategic goals.
You won’t just be reporting numbers — you’ll be influencing outcomes. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on business involvement, enjoys problem‑solving, and wants genuine ownership in building the financial capability of the division.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and liaising with the Dealer Principal and CFO, you will provide accurate, timely and relevant reporting and management information to achieve business objectives across 8+ automotive brands.
Responsibilities
* Serve as the go‑to finance partner for providing real‑time guidance, insight, and commercial thinking.
* Translate complex operational data into clear, actionable insights that improve performance and support smart decisions.
* Lead accurate and timely month‑end reporting, ensuring the division’s financial position is well understood.
* Deliver sharp variance analysis that highlights trends, risks, and opportunities.
* Play a key role in budgets, forecasts, and strategic planning.
* Maintain strong financial integrity through robust monthly reconciliation, review, and analysis.
* Manage divisional accounting activities including journals, accruals, fixed assets, inventory adjustments, and cost allocations.
* Manage vehicle, parts and consumables stock takes.
* Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
* Support the rollout of systems and process improvements that enhance the speed, accuracy, and impact of financial information.
* Build trusted relationships with operational and corporate finance teams.
* Support senior management and contribute at executive meetings.
* Ensure all manufacturer reporting and claims obligations are met.
* Ensuring compliance with statutory laws and financial regulations.
* Site working capital management.
* Support statutory reporting requirements.
* Assist the Group Financial Controller or delegate as and when required.
* Mentor and upskill finance and non‑finance team members.
