The Lead Engineer – Powertrain Development has technical ownership on project, component and sub-system level for both new product introduction (NPI) and new technology introduction (NTI). This role leverages state-of-the-art development tools, validation methods and intelligent analytics to ensure that new products meet the highest possible performance and reliability standards in the industry and mitigate technical risk throughout the product lifecycle. The candidate will work to co-ordinate internal departments and external suppliers to execute projects to a high standard and according to timelines and budgets. What We Offer:

Your Responsibilities:
* Provide technical leadership to a project team and build working relationships with other disciplines to execute the development of powertrain systems & technology for both New Product Introduction (NPI) and New Technology Introduction (NTI)
* Drive multiple projects simultaneously according to the product line strategy, identifying potential technical risks and developing a mitigation plan.
* Drive technical investigation and resolution within Root Cause Analysis (RCA) projects by collection and thorough review of the available technical data, identifying the needed tools and resources to solve the issue, implementing and verifying the solution. Support of field investigations at customer sites where needed.
* Manage requirements and trade-offs within projects and across disciplines to support development of innovative and class leading products
* Work together with internal departments and external suppliers to develop good relationships that accelerate development of new products and resolution of technical and quality issues.
* Identify improvements and capture lessons learned in Design Practices & Work Instructions
* Provide written technical reports for testing and customer field inspections, and lead the preparation for project design reviews and project gateways
Your Profile:
* Advanced degree in Engineering or equivalent
* More than 5 years' experience as a development engineer, with excellent communication and project management skills
* Comprehensive knowledge of reciprocating engine technology and associated systems. Direct experience of powertrain development and validation tools and techniques and demonstrated proficiency in problem solving.
* A team player who is comfortable working in an international environment and possesses strong oral and written communication skills in English, German is a plus.
* Willingness to travel internationally
* A valid work permit for Austria as a prerequisite for this position (Non-EU citizens: please attach the work permit to the application)
