A Snapshot of Your Day
Join Siemens Energy and step into a hands‑on engineering role where you design the control and wiring systems that keep power transformers running safely and reliably. You start your day transforming technical requirements into precise control panel designs, wiring diagrams, and cabinet layouts that meet global standards and customer expectations. You collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing and customers to optimize designs for quality, cost and delivery. Every design you complete directly supports the performance, safety and serviceability of power transformers around the world.
How You’ll Make An Impact
* Design and develop control panels for power transformers, including wiring diagrams, schematics, cabinet layouts and customer‑approval drawings.
* Create accurate drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) and order associated materials such as wires, terminal blocks, panels, switchgear, monitoring and protection devices.
* Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers and customers to ensure designs meet technical requirements, industry standards and Siemens Energy design rules.
* Troubleshoot control panel issues and provide technical support to field service teams during installation and operation.
* Lead design reviews with customers and support vendor development while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, cost and schedule targets.
* Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met, actively participating in customer design reviews and supporting vendor development.
What You Bring
* A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or a closely related field) and 6+ years of experience in control panel and wiring design for medium or large power transformers.
* Strong knowledge of condition monitoring systems, LTC schemes (including Reinhausen and ABB), transformer parallel operation and standards such as IEC, ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NEMA and UL.
* Hands‑on experience with transformer control systems, including temperature monitoring, voltage regulation, annunciation and industrial communication protocols.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and EPLAN (or similar control wiring design tools); 3D CAD knowledge is an advantage.
* Excellent English and German communication skills, a self‑driven working style and the ability to coordinate effectively with manufacturing teams and suppliers; SAP experience is a plus.
