Organizational Setting
The Division of Information Technology supports the IAEA in ICT, including information systems for technical programmes and management. It manages ICT strategy, standards, and services, utilizing best practices like ITIL and Prince2.
Main Purpose
To implement the Data Strategy by creating a data catalogue, analyzing data use cases, and strengthening data governance. The role involves assessing Data Integration Architecture and Governance to enhance insights.
Functions / Key Results Expected
Align data strategies with organizational goals under the supervision of the Chief Data Officer, utilizing statistical and computational techniques to extract insights and develop AI solutions.
Collaborate with data engineers/architects to define data requirements, perform advanced analytics, machine learning, data cleaning, and visualization to communicate findings.
Support decision-making with actionable recommendations, conduct exploratory data analysis, and develop predictive models using techniques like regression, neural networks, and decision trees.
Design and develop big data applications for predictive analytics and machine learning, proficient in languages like R or Python and database querying.
Translate complex data into actionable insights, communicate results effectively, and establish data governance for analysis and automated decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience
Advanced University Degree in Computer Science, Data Management, Data Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields, or a Bachelor's with additional experience.
Minimum five years in AI data science, ML engineering, or analytics.
At least two years designing and implementing AI solutions focusing on machine learning, NLP, or data mining.
Experience with SQL, Python, R, and data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, Excel.
Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, data modeling, and warehousing.
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and fluency in English; knowledge of other IAEA languages is an asset.
Remuneration
Daily fee up to €340, with provisions for travel, health coverage, and pension contributions as applicable.
