The Role:
* Serve as system owner for ignition systems within the engineering organisation, reporting to the Head of Controls Engineering
* Lead the design, development, and ongoing improvement of ignition systems across all gas engine product lines
* Research and evaluate emerging ignition technologies, contributing to long-term product roadmap planning
* Define requirements and drive technical delivery of ignition-related programmes within cross-functional teams
* Oversee development projects end-to-end, from initial specification through to field validation, with regular reporting to senior leadership
* Support supplier qualification activities and contribute to field-based root cause investigations
* Work collaboratively with colleagues across disciplines, with exposure to cutting-edge technologies and leadership development pathways
About You:
* Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, with a minimum of 8 years' development experience in ignition systems for reciprocating engines
* Recognised technical authority in the field, with a track record of relevant publications or equivalent contributions
* Deep knowledge of high voltage theory and applications, with solid understanding of ignition component manufacturing and the supplier landscape
* Proven experience with Design for Reliability methodologies including FMEA, ALT, and HALT testing
* Methodical, process-driven approach in line with engineering best practice
* Strong written and spoken English; German is a bonus
* Comfortable working across international, multicultural, cross-functional teams
* Based on-site at the primary facility, with willingness to travel internationally four to five times per year (up to two weeks per trip)
