Responsibilities
* Plan and coordinate the work of the Russian Language Service team.
* Revise content in Russian produced by other staff members and freelancers covering a broad range of scientific, technical, administrative and legal subjects.
* Draft, translate and edit content, as required.
* Make authoritative decisions on terminology, language and subject‑matter, including assessing competence of professional staff and freelancers in the Russian Language Service team.
* Provide input on the assessment of linguistic competence for staff and freelancers required to carry out proofreading tasks in the Multilingual Output Production Team.
* Provide training and guidance to the Russian Language Service team and, when required, linguistic training to the Multilingual Output Production Team.
* Implement innovative solutions and best‑practice policies and standards as directed by the Section Head in the production of Russian language content.

Required Expertise
* Language and Conference Services – Editing & Proofreading: Ability to edit and proofread translations.
* Revising: Ability to edit and revise translations.
* Russian Editing: Ability to independently edit the translations.
* Terminology: Assistance in developing the central terminology database.
* Translating: Ability to translate from English into Russian.
* Translation Support Tools: Expertise in TRADOS Studio and Muliterm, and other IT translation tools.
Qualifications, Experience and Language Skills
* Advanced university degree (Master’s) in translation, languages or related field; a bachelor’s degree plus two years relevant experience may be considered.
* Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in translation.
* Minimum of four years in an international organization, public or non‑profit sector, or equivalent.
* Experience supervising a team of translators is an asset.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office and translation tools, especially TRADOS Studio and Muliterm.
* Excellent oral and written command of Russian and English.
* Knowledge of other IAEA official languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish) is an asset.
Remuneration
The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax‑free annual net base salary starting at US $101,540, a variable post adjustment of US $55,339, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses. Other benefits include 6 weeks annual leave, home leave travel, pension plan, and health insurance.

* Professionally graded staff are subject to the IAEA rotation policy with a maximum tour of service of seven years.
