Opening for a Contracts Manager/Estimator
A Leading & Innovative Family Owned & Managed Concrete Construction Company seeks a Contracts Manager/Estimator. This is a full‑time salaried position.
Location: Near Logan, South of Brisbane.

* An autonomous role, with good support, reporting directly to the managing director and liaising with the construction manager.

Responsibilities
* Selecting tenders from pores and those received by post.
* Interpret all construction plans and scope, measure using measurement software.
* Prepare detailed quotations by requested timeframes from builders.
* Liaise with builders to conform with the scope of work.
* Negotiate with builders.
* Liaise with management to confirm timelines of current and projected workloads.
* Attend pre‑contract award meetings to finalise SOW and pricing.
* Prepare monthly invoice valuations to be submitted to builders.
* Prepare detailed breakdowns for works completed.
* Manage supplier relationships – an ability to resolve any associated issue or problem.
* Monitor project costs, outputs, schedules, and identify overruns.
* Maintain SWMS and SDS register.
* Maintain & enhance relationships with key builders and suppliers.
About the role
As a member of our team, and working in a fast‑paced, hands‑on, team‑oriented environment, you will deliver an exceptional standard of service to ensure operational excellence. Your leadership qualities and personal appearance will be of a high standard. A self‑motivated person possessing good time‑management skills is required. Normal hours of work are Monday to Friday: 08:00 to 16:00.

Paying attention to detail is a critical success factor for this role.
Key Selection Criteria
* Relevant experience (minimum 5 years, or 3–4 years if holding a tertiary degree in this area).
* The ability to detect errors and/or issues through your attention‑to‑detail skills.
* A real team player with excellent organisational and customer service skills.
* A good ability to think on your feet.
* A proactive approach with a focus on critical & strategic thinking to devise solutions.
* Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
* An ability to enhance the work‑culture – a peoples person.
* Excellent communication competencies through verbal and written skills.
* A ‘can‑do’ approach & the ability to resolve issues with integrity, accountability, and transparency.
