Overview
Unlock the Future of Quantum Computing. As a Trapped-Ion Development Engineer, you will join a highly motivated, global team committed to realizing the potential of quantum computing. You will collaborate with clients and academic partners to advance trapped-ion quantum processors (ionQPUs) and drive industrialization through multi-chip integration.
Responsibilities
Drive technology development for trapped-ion quantum processors, with a focus on scaling toward very large chips
Co-develop the next generations of QPUs with commercial partners
Enable the research community through projects with academic partners
Supervise master and PhD students
You are proactive, passionate about new technologies, and value clear communication and teamwork.
Qualifications
PhD in physics, quantum engineering, computational physics or similar
More than five years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, quantum optics, and/or trapped-ion quantum computing
Highly motivated to advance quantum computing to reality
Fluent in English; German skills or willingness to learn are a plus
Compensation & Location
The employment is in accordance with the collective salary and wage agreement for employees of the electrical and electronics industry (employment group H). The monthly salary is paid 14 times per year, with potential higher compensation based on expertise and skills. This role is based in Villach, Austria.
