FMCG Operations Manager - Food Compliance

Role and responsibilities
We are seeking an FMCG Operations Manager - Food Compliance to manage our end-to-end supply chain and lead our operations team. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will oversee inventory, logistics, warehousing, compliance and operational processes. You'll work closely with the General Manager and play a key role ensuring products move efficiently from international suppliers to Australian customers.
Operations & Leadership
* Lead and develop the operations and warehouse team (2 direct reports)
* Set and monitor operational KPIs aligned with business goals
* Provide operational reporting and insights to leadership
* Foster a positive, accountable team culture
Supply Chain & Logistics
* Manage end-to-end order fulfilment from purchase through to customer delivery
* Oversee inventory planning, stock control and supplier coordination
* Manage VIC warehouse operations and oversee QLD 3PL provider
* Coordinate transport providers and optimize freight costs
* Manage EDI processes and pallet reconciliations (CHEP/Loscam)
Purchasing & Imports
* Raise purchase orders and forecast inventory requirements
* Coordinate shipments with international suppliers
* Manage container arrivals, freight forwarding and customs documentation
* Oversee landed cost reconciliation and container inspections
Compliance & Quality
* Ensure product compliance with the Foods Standard Australia New Zealand Code
* Manage product labeling and regulatory requirements
* Liaise with retailers, QA teams and regulatory bodies
Process & Performance
* Maintain SOPs and operational documentation
* Drive continuous improvement through systems and process optimization
* Monitor DIFOT performance and operational metrics

Qualifications and experience required
* 5+ years' experience in supply chain or operations management
* Working knowledge of Food Standards Australia New Zealand regulatory requirements
* Proven people leadership and team development experience
* Experience managing international supply chains and imports, ideally within FMCG
* Hands‑on small business mindset – proactive, flexible and willing to step in where needed
* Strong commercial awareness and problem‑solving capability
