About the Office of Audit and Assurance
The Office of Audit and Assurance, within the Division of the President and Vice-Chancellor, provides the University with an effective internal audit, assurance and investigation service. The function undertakes a variety of audit work in addition to traditional financial-based audits and assurance work to assess controls. The Internal Audit team operates under a formal Charter approved by Audit and Risk Committee, a committee of the Board of Trustees, and reports functionally to the Audit and Risk Committee and administratively to the Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer, with an independent reporting line to the Vice Chancellor and President. Because of its independent status the Office of Audit and Assurance is well placed to provide management and senior executive with impartial reports on University operations.
About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists within the Office of Audit and Assurance for a Senior Manager, Internal Audit to join the team.
The Senior Manager, Internal Audit will be responsible for:
* Leading the delivery of the risk-based Internal Audit Plan – scope, deliver and report operational, financial, compliance and ad-hoc reviews (including subsidiary audits) and present findings to Audit & Risk Committees.
* Embedding best-practice standards – champion IPPF/Global Internal Audit Standards and run the Quality Assurance & Improvement Program.
* Advising executives on risk & controls – act as a trusted adviser to the Senior Executive, Deans and Directors on governance, regulation and process improvement.
* Managing people, projects and budget – coach a high-performing audit team, oversee vendors, and deliver engagements on time and within the function’s cost centre.
* Modelling independent, values-based leadership – uphold integrity, foster knowledge-sharing and build strong relationships with Risk, Legal, University Secretary and other key stakeholders.
